Hello all,

My name is Kong Vang. I am Hmong-American and like most of you, am a die-hard red jungle fowl enthusiast. I am grateful that this unique site has decided to accommodate members like me with an English section. I have been reading your posts by using a Thai-to-English translator, but feel this is a better way to communicate in which English speakers can ask questions and share ideas.
I raise RJF too, but do not have birds as pure as the ones in your beautiful photos. In the states, we have a limited selection and work with what we have. In my behalf, I breed for correct looks and to have birds with crows that resemble wild RJF.
I look forward to receiving a wealth of information from this site. Below are some of my prized birds. Not posted is a female that was hatched from eggs brought over from Thailand.

Very beautiful picture indeed! Congratulation.
I think though you have limitation in pure RJF strain still I believe from our pictures posted of birds living in the wild would be a standard hence able you to breed and select to your satisfy.
About the crow, we have quite some members that seriously expert in the crow . They use the bird for hunting and only the one with the right crow would call for it's prey. The pure RJF will not be tame enough to take along for such task so it is replaced with the selected half breed that owns the right crow.

very worm welcome to our community. You have a good looking RJF although some of them seems not pure blood. Try to breed them with female RJF you got from Thailand. I think you'll get a good one.

Kong could you read what Pakpoom wrote in Hmong?
I think he was trying to comunicate with you in your own language.
Or it had been too long for you to remember? Ha Ha

I can kind of understand Hmong, but I was never extensively taught how to read or write in Hmong. I did take a Hmong class in college and did not quite grasp reading the endings of words and especially how to write it.

Thanks for the compliments and yes, I will continue to try to breed for the pure phenotypes. I have yet to see anyone in the U.S. to have 100% pure looking Southeast Asian Red Jungle Fowl.

Do you think my birds' crows resemble the wild birds in Thailand? I have been going off of old Hmong men's opinions only and would like opinions from different people that have seen the wild birds.

We have no longtail here and I am very keen of this breed.

Thanks Moo. My local friends used to raise them, but got out of it. My friend Jacen's website, http://moderndayfowl.freeforums.org, has many people on there that raise them. Some of their birds are the best I have seen. Give them a try.

Our friends said that the 1st. crow sound like it is from the older bird but the crow is O.K.
The second one sould like from younger stud and they said it is very close to perfect!
